The familiar “all aboard” cry of the train conductor now has special meaning to millions of America’s pet-crazed travelers. In a pilot program meant to encourage rail travel Amtrak is allowing small dogs and cats aboard some of its routes beginning in the Chicago area, according to reports.
The new carry-on pet program is being tested by Amtrak officials to see if it can be rolled out nationally. According to a story in Time.com, the program will end on November 2, 2014, at which time the pet policy will be reviewed by officials.
